GREEN CONSERVATION (LOCH LOMOND)

GREEN CONSERVATION
(The Banks of Loch Lomond)

Sweet are the waters that flow through our pipes
From the sun-kissed lake of Loch Lomond
But droughts sometimes come
When the rains don’t choose to fall
On the bonny, bonny banks of Loch Lomond.

Oh, we’ll take the high road
of green conservation
and we’ll not desalt our dear ocean
For billions of years, life has generated there
and we’ll not cause a dreadful commotion.

Santa Cruz water is wholesome and clear
For It comes from the Loch and the river
But what should we do,
When the rains don’t choose to fall
And the blue skies refuse to deliver?

Oh, we’ll take the high road
of green conservation
and we’ll not desalt our dear ocean
For billions of years, life has generated there
And we owe it our faithful devotion.

So we’ll save our rainfall in barrels and pots
and we’ll not waste a drop in our showers
Our waste water goes to our gardens’ thirsty plants
And they’ll thank us with veggies and flowers.

Oh, we’ll take the high road
of green conservation
and we’ll not desalt our dear ocean
For billions of years, life has generated there
and we owe it our faithful devotion.
