SOCIAL INSECURITY

SOCIAL INSECURITY

(My Blue Heaven)

Now, seniors, don’t fuss

Just listen to us

We’re cutting your social security.

Please don’t hold a grudge

The right wouldn’t budge

They sat on their fiscal  purity.

Just think of this as humor that should make you smile

When you’re selecting tuna in the catfood aisle.

No need to  take fright,

It’s just a small bite

We’re puzzled by your infurity.

We know you were shocked

At how much we docked

Your salary check each fortnight

But everyone knew

The debt would come due

Our promise to you was forthright.

We never dreamed old farts like you were gonna live so long

It’s really just a joke on us that we were wrong.

Accept the gestalt

It’s nobody’s fault

We’re sorry for any injurity.
